Julianna is a Ph.D. student in the BIOS lab. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Biophotonics at the University of California, Irvine. She conducted her undergraduate research at The Beckman Laser Institute where she gained experience with neuroengineering, laser imaging technologies, and image processing. Specifically, her undergraduate research focused on seeking techniques to chronically study cerebral blood flow using laser speckle contrast imaging. At Duke, Julianna will be researching and developing optical coherence tomography instruments.
